ANNUAL DAY PROGRAMME -2026
Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj held its Annual Day, ‘Yugdarshta Bharat- Pragya Se Pragati Tak’, on 8th August 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The function celebrated the timeless legacy of India, tracing the country’ s monumental journey from the dawn of civilization to the futuristic contemporary world. Padma Bhushan awardee Shri V.K Shunglu, Chairman, The Delhi Public School Society honoured the ceremony with his presence, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Arun Bhardwaj, Scientist, ISRO, presided over as Special Guest. The show commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by all the eminent guests, followed by a rousing rendition of ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ by the school choir. The Principal, Mrs. Deepti Vohra accorded a warm welcome to the august gathering and also chronicled the institution’s stellar annual academic and co- curricular achievements. Shri V.K Shunglu, honourable Chief Guest appreciated the school’s deep cultural ethos and motivated the fraternity to strive for further glory.
The highlight of the day was the performance of an enthralling dance-drama that vividly portrayed India’ s tectonic evolution through the ages. Initiating from the Indus Valley Civilization, navigating through the pages of history, and emerging as the resilient future- ready nation of the present epoch. The production celebrated the nation’s exquisite historical and cultural heritage, scholarly excellence and remarkable achievements especially in the fields of science and technology.
The day was filled with extravagant splendour showcasing the commendable talent and hard work of 265 students and the entire DPS Vasant Kunj fraternity. They received a standing ovation from a thoroughly impressed audience and the venue reverberated with their thunderous applause. The event concluded with the proposal of the vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem being sung by the assembled congregation in unison.
