ANNUAL DAY PROGRAMME AND SCHOLAR BADGE  CEREMONY

CLASSES 5 AND 6

INCREDIBLE INDIA AND INCOMPARABLE CHILDREN OF DPS VASANT KUNJ!

This was the panoramic theme of the Annual Day Programme and Scholar Badge Ceremony of classes 5 and 6 organized on August 12th, 2023, by Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj.

The event commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony initiated by the Chief Guest,  Dr. (Ms.) Kiran Datar, Vice Chairperson, Managing Committee, DPS Vasant Kunj; the Guest of  Honour, Shri. Yuvraj Malik, Director, National Book Trust of India; Principal, Ms. Deepti  Vohra; Vice Principal, Ms. Archana Malik; Headmistress, Ms. Malini Sengupta and  Headmistress, Ms. Mamta Narula, to solicit the benign blessings of the Almighty. The rousing rendition of the national song, Vande Mataram, by the school choir embedded the patriotic ambience for the proceedings. Ms. Deepti Vohra welcomed the distinguished guests and expressed her pride at the achievements of the young scholars, and the admirable confluence of ancient heritage and stupendous development achieved by India. She elaborated that the school encouraged the holistic development of its students and provided them with an array of opportunities to acquire valuable skills, which helped them grow as adroit individuals. The Guest of Honour, Shri. Yuvraj Malik, lauded the young achievers and emphasised on the need to instil certain peerless values in children. These included disciplined routine, dedicated reading and dogged determination. Chief Guest, Dr. Kiran Datar, in her address expressed her appreciation for the participating students and teachers for their scintillating presentation. Dr Datar further referred to the analogy of a multi-hued, fragrant bouquet to impress the enriching diversity of India, which must be nurtured with the nectar of compassion and acceptance.

As an emblem of earnest academic proficiency, the honourable dignitaries awarded 176 students  in Class 5 and 173 students in Class 6, the coveted Scholar Badges. The celebration of their feat was twinned by a spectacular dance drama- Atulya Bharat capturing the glimpses of India’s glorious past and the rapid strides of development it has made in the modern times. The  amalgamated talent of a humungous 448 students of classes 5 and 6, enthralled the audience with  a breathtaking odyssey traversing through epochal landmarks, in the existence of this most  ancient civilization, incredible India- origin of Bharat, epical life treatises of the Ramayan and  the Mahabharat. The mesmerizing narrative also capsuled Emperor Asoka’ s renunciation of  violence and embracing peace, the edifying influence of the Mughals, the awe- inspiring freedom  struggle to break the shackles of British subjugation and the dynamic, diligent and dedicated  efforts of the country to make it a tour- de- force in the technology, global harmony – driven present, enunciated by the Chandrayaan Mission and G 20 leadership. The gifted performing  students paid homage zealously to their motherland which is the epitome of Vasudeva  Kutumbakam, syncretism, unity in diversity while nurturing successfully, a rich heritage and  progressive perspective.

The momentous day’ s proceedings concluded with the presentation of the vote of thanks and the  National Anthem being sung by the entire congregation, in unison
