Autism Awareness Month April 2026
“World Autism Day” is celebrated worldwide on the 2ndApril every year to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ASD is a developmental disorder that impacts an individual’s ability to communicate and behave socially. The theme for World Autism Awareness Day in 2026 is "Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value". This theme emphasizes the inherent dignity, neurodiversity, and worth of all autistic individuals, advocating for active inclusion and support in education, healthcare, and employment. To make our children understand about Autism Spectrum Disorder, different activities were carried out in our school in the month of April at various levels. In classes I and II story telling was done and in classes III, IV and V, the students were sensitized with the help of power point presentations during Value Education periods. Further Special assembly was conducted to bring awareness regarding how to interact and support children with autism in our classes. This awareness brought in understanding in children about their peers in classes and people in the society.
