9th International Online Abacus Competition- Brainobrainfest 2023

Samaira Saigal of Class II C brought laurels to the school by participating and winning in the 9th International Online Abacus Competition- Brainobrainfest 2023. It was held on 28th January 2023.20603 children across 84 countries participated in the event.Samaira won the champion award,the highest award, in the competition. 

 

 

World Wildlife Day; A United Nations Initiative

United Nations held an art competition World Wildlife Youth Art Competition to increase awareness about Wildlife among children.  The  art contest saw participation and entries from 80 countries from around the world. Shiven Sidharth of 4A painted an artwork titled ‘Sunderban Tiger’ which won the group prize !

The event which involved CITES ( Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) and the National Geographic Society took place on the 3rd of March, 2023 in Washington DC.

 

 

 

DCPCR Journal Inuagration

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights through a circular of Department of Education encouraged participation from all schools (aided/unaided/private/govt.) for a painting competition on the theme of ‘Moving on- The Pandemic and Beyond’. The competition invited thousands of entries from across India.

It is a proud moment for DPS Vasant Kunj as Shiven Sidharth of 4A has submitted a winning artwork for the 3rd issue of the DCPCR Journal.

Shiven’s artwork is titled ‘Excited to go back to School’ and depicts a child looking forward to the reopening of school post 2 years of study from home. This was the second time Shiven’s painting was selected to be published in this prestigious competition. 

DCPCR also selected Shiven to be a co host for the Journal launch event held at Triveni Kala Sangam on 25th February,  2023. Honourable Justice of Supreme Court Hima Kohli was the Chief Guest at the event.

  

 

 

 

 

Inter school Adaptive Athletic Meet

 An Inter- School Adaptive Athletic Meet for the children with special needs  was held at Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri on 9th and 10th February, 2023.From the junior school, the children with special needs participated with great enthusiasm and brought laurel to school by winning the prizes in the following events-

1.     Aiman Waseem of Class III D won the 2nd prize in 50 meters  race and the 3rd prize in Standing Long Jump.

2.     Indraneel Parashar of Class III F won the 3rd prize in 50 meters  race and the 3rd prize in Standing Long Jump.

3.     K.Aditya of Class IV E won the 2nd prize in Soft Ball Throw and 25 meters Assisted Walk.

4.     Ayasha Parveen of Class IV A got a participation certificate in 25 meters Assisted Walk.

5.     Prajwal Saini of Class III E got a participation certificate in Soft ball throw.

In the non- competitive category of young athletes, the following students got a certificate and prize-

1.     Aadrika of Class I C

2.     Divyanshu Gautam of Class I D

3.     Krishna Srivastava of Class II C 

4.     Aryan Mohan of Class II E

 

   

 

All India Rubik's Cube Championship

Daksha Shankar of Class 3 has won a Gold Medal in 3x3 and a Silver Medal in 2x2 at the All India Rubik's Cube Championship  organized  by Abacus Champs Academy where children from all over the country participated. She was felicitated at an award ceremony held at Dilli Haat Auditorium in Janakpuri, New Delhi.

 
 

 

 

 Inter-School Modern Tennis Tournament 

Modern School Vasant Vihar, hosted an Inter-School Modern Tennis Tournament from December 26-28,  2022.

Adwik Bains of class 5B,Harshvardhan Baid of class 4C and Vivaan Anand of class 4B  represented our school. They were declared the winners in the Mini Boys Category.

 

 

 

9thWG.CDR.Inter-School Junior Athletic Meet

      The students of the junior school participated in the 9thWG.CDR.Inter-School Junior Athletic Meet which was held at Tyagaraj Stadium on 13th December 2022. Our children brought laurels to school by winning in the following events-

-          Mannansh Kaloria of 4A won the gold medal in 50 mtrs flat race.

-          Chhavi Singh of 5E won the gold medal in 70 Mtr Hurdles race.

-          Shubham Kumar Yadav of class 3F won the gold medal in Standing broad jump.

-          Prateek Chand of 4A won the gold medal in long jump.

 

In Relay Under 11 Category- Girls, the following children made the school proud by winning the gold medal-

-          Aakriti Sharma of 5B

-          Avika Khanna of 5B

-          Chhavi Singh of 5E

-          Riya of 5A   

-           Aakriti Sharma of 5B also won the silver medal in 70 Mtrs flat race.

 

In Relay Under 10 Category – Boys

-          Shauryavir Shokhand of 4A, Mannansh Kaloria of 4A, Ashwin Singh of 4A and Rohan Rajak of 4B won the gold medal.

 

The bronze medal winners are as follows- –

-          Rohan Rajak of 4B in Ball throw event

-          Nitya Gupta of 4A in 50 Mtr flat race.

-          Aarnav Jain of 3C in 50 Mtr flat race.

 NASA -International Art Contest

Every year, NASA holds its International Art Contest on space themes. The contest attracts thousands of entries from all over the world. Shiven Sidharth of 4A has made DPS VK and the country proud by bagging the third place in this art contest with his artwork titled ‘My Happy Space’; depicting a girl exploring the solar system with her brand new telescope.

The winning entries also get showcased in Nasa's Kennedy Centre.

 

MÉLANGE 2022

Delhi Public School, Dwarka organized a Literary and Cultural interschool competition MÉLANGE 2022 for Nursery to Class V through the virtual mode from 19th to 26th November, 2022.

The students from the junior school of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, participated enthusiastically and brought laurels to the school by winning in the following events –

1.    Myra Malik of Class Nursery won the 1st prize in the event 'Aquanauts'.

2.    Samaira Yadav of Class Prep won the 1st prize in the event ‘Flower Power'.

3.    Ojaswi Rana of Class 2 won the 1st prize in the event 'Well Versed'. 

4.   Amyra Minocha of Class 3 won the 2nd prize in the event 'Artisan Greens'.

5.    Viraj Singh Narang and Krishang Gupta of Class 3 won the 2nd prize in the event ‘Mathscrapers'.

6.    Sharanya of Class 3 won the 1st prize in the event 'Poster Boaster'. 

4.   Amyra Minocha of Class 3 won the 2nd prize in the event 'Artisan Greens'.

5.    Viraj Singh Narang and Krishang Gupta of Class 3 won the 2nd prize in the event ‘Mathscrapers'.

6.    Sharanya of Class 3 won the 1st prize in the event 'Poster Boaster'. 

7.    Amaira Vohra of Class 4 won the 1st prize in the event 'Kalakriti'.

8.   Shiven Sidharth and Delisha Garg of Class 4 won the 1st prize in the event 'Monulith'.

9.   Gladys V. of Class 5 won the 2nd prize in the event 'Brushes and Strokes'.

10.    Madhureema Elangovan and Aarna Srivastava of Class 5 won the 3rd prize in the event ‘Multilingual Lexipool'.

11.    Lavanya Sharma of Class 5 won theSpecial Mentioned prize in the event 'Chordstruck'. 

 

 

 

Tennis Oholic International Tournament

Tennis Oholic International Tournament was held on 27th November at Guru Nanak Public School, Pitampura. Harshvardhan Baid of Class IV-C participated in the tournament along with other 20 participants from all over Delhi- NCR under the Category of U-8. The tournament consisted of two rounds. He brought laurels to school by winning the first position in both the rounds. He was awarded with a certificate, a medal and a winner trophy in the award ceremony.

 

 

Inter School Shloka Recitation

Gyan Bharti School, Saket organized an Inter-School Shloka Recitation- Srijan Sangam on 29th October,2022, Saturday.  Avantika Gupta of class V F brought laurels to school by winning the FIRST PRIZE in the junior category.

 

 

 

 Zonal Level Athletic Meet

Zonal Level Athletic meet was organised by Directorate of Education at Thyagraj stadium on 6th and  7th September 2022.Students of classes 4 and 5 participated in this tournament in the Mini category. The names of the winners are as follows:

Aakriti  Sharma of class 5 won a Gold medal in 100 meters and a Silver in 50 meters Race.

Avika Khanna of class 5 won a Bronze medal in Long jump.

Mannansh Kaloria  class 4  won a silver medal in 50 meters Race.

 

 

 

 Zonal Level Mini Basketball Tournament

Our school girls team participated in the Zonal level Mini basketball tournament held at Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj on 2nd September, 2022 organised by Directorate of Education.The team comprising of 12 members were the runners up in the event.

 

 

 

ESPIRIT 22- Inter-School event

The tiny tots of Class Prep brought laurels to school by winning the FIRST PRIZE in ESPIRIT 22-an Inter-School event held at Bal Bharti Public School, Noida on 3rd September,2022, Saturday. The theme of the event was, "Folklores-Tales Untold". The participants from our school danced on the foot-tapping Kalbeliya song with the depiction of Gangaur Teej festival in the background which belongs to the state of Rajasthan. The team of eight girls won the hearts of everyone present there with their enthralling dance performance. They along with their teachers received accolades for the beautiful synchronisation of dance presentation with the theme. Jasnoor Kaur, of class Prep- B was awarded a special prize for the difficult stunts she performed with ease and grace.

 

 

 

Zonal Lawn Tennis Tournament 


Zonal level Tennis tournament was organised by  Department of  Education at Vasant Valley school on 22nd August, 2022. Adwik Bains (5B), Amiya Rai (5B) and Vivan Taneja (5A) participated in the tournament.
 Our school won in the Mini boys category.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 Zonal  Table Tennis Tournament

A zonal level table tennis tournament was organised at Bhatnagar International schoo,Vasant Kunj conducted by Directorate of education.

Riaan Anand of class 5C and Reyansh Thukral of class 4D participated in this tournament and were the winners in the Mini under 12 category. 


 

 

 

 

DCPCR Journal Inauguration Ceremony

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights through a circular of Department of Education encouraged participation from all schools (aided/unaided/private/govt.) for a painting competition on the theme of ‘Second Year of the Covid-19 Pandemic and how it has significantly disrupted childhood and education of children in the Indian context’.

It was a proud moment for DPS Vasant Kunj as Shiven Sidharth of class 4 and Viraj Sharma of class 2 launched the second journal of DCPCR on Saturday, the 6th of August 2022, with Chief Guest Supreme Court Justice BV Nagarathna in the presence of Deputy CM Mr. Manish Sisodia .

Along with Shiven Sidharth , Aditya Singh of class 4 and Viraj Sharma of class 2 were also invited in the launch ceremony and the paintings of these children are also featured in DCPCR journal.

    

 

 

 

 

 

 

National Level Cube Competition

A National Level Cube Competition was organized by B2S Educational Institutions in June 2022. Daksha Shankar of Class III-F participated in the “under-8 year category” and won Excellent Cuber award for four Cube categories. She had also won a Gold Medal at the 6th Delhi State Cubing Championship in April this year.

 

 

 

  Budding Writers

Devaangi Mehra

At this young age, Devaangi is already a published writer. A student of Class VI A of the school, Devaangi published her debut novel, ‘Kiley Saves Dragonia’ in 2021. The book is an adventure story and is available in print and digital formats, both in India and abroad.

This multi-talented girl also has a blog to her credit and is learning Kathak and Guitar as well.

Shivaangi Mehra

Shivaangi is Devaangi’s younger sister and is following the able footsteps of her talented elder sister.

At the young age of 9 year, Shivaangi too has a book published against her name, titled ' Adventures of Jones Sisters’.  The book got published this year and is a collection of two stories. Her book is also available in both print and digital formats. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

International Abacus Competition -Brainobrain fest' 2022

In the 7th International Abacus Competition -Brainobrain fest' 2022, Samrita Saigal of Class I, won a trophy and was declared the Champion. Around 23,000 students had participated from over 72 countries.
