Diwali celebrations at the junior school, DPS Vasant Kunj illuminated everyone’s heart with joy and fervor. The week long celebrations comprised a bunch of exhilarating activities for the students. The students of Class I heralded the festival of lights by presenting a skit with a lot of enthusiasm wherein the students set the mood of the festivity by invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh, Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ram by presenting a mesmerizing song. An inspiring skit was also dramatized to apprise the students about the hazardous effects of bursting crackers.

Children of Classes  Nursery, Prep and I made elegant lanterns and colourful rangoli designs and diyas. The entire block was resplendent with lovely Diwali  decorations. Adding sanctity to the festivity, students of Class II organized a special assembly on Diwali on 25th October 2019. The students dressed up as various characters from the Ramayana depicted the story of Lord Rama and his return to Ayodhya after conquering Ravana through a wonderful skit thus spreading the message of victory of good over evil. The school Vice Principal, Mrs. Hemalatha Muralidharan, applauded the efforts of the children and urged them to celebrate a clean, green and safe Diwali. 

As part of the celebrations, an Inter House Rangoli competition was also held for Classes IV and V. Children displayed colourful and ravishing rangolis within the school premises. Chenab House and Jamuna House jointly bagged the first prize.
