innate in man. He radiated an aura of sublimity that cast its patina of splendour on everything and everyone in the realm of his association.
Shri. Vinay Kumar, after completing his education found his calling in
academics and thereon commenced his journey with the DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL family. Biology was his forte and he was one of the most brilliant, dedicated and regarded teachers in DPS R.K. Puram from 1976 to 1994. The world of medicine today
is fortified by many a competent pupil of Shri. Vinay Kumar, who was awarded the sobriquet 'Doctor Maker' by his admirers. A thorough academician, he wrote several erudite books in Biology which further revealed the vast reservoir of
knowledge he cradled within himself.
DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL VASANT KUNJ was a barren terrain of latent seeds and atomies, until touched in 1994 by the enchanting, dynamic magnetism of its founder principal, Shri. Vinay Kumar. With a unique blend of missionary zeal and a calm, pure devotion he raised, brick by brick, an edifice of excellence. He had great regard for the ennobling spirit of nature and created a haven of verdant, sylvan beauty; proliferating with flowers and plants of myriad hues. But, what is the physical without the spirit? Shri. Vinay Kumar was the heart and soul of DPS Vasant Kunj. He embodied indomitable courage, perfect sincerity and a total self-giving. The welfare and progress of his school was his primary concern. This was evident in his empathetic and humane bearing towards staff and students alike. A man of sterling character, his sanguine outlook inspired confidence in his numerous followers. He
was the recipient of several prestigious awards including, National Award for Teachers and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Teacher's Award. His veneration for
excellence inspired the entire DPS Vasant Kunj family to aspire for the same. Furthermore, Shri. Vinay Kumar's immense humility was revealed by his enthusiasm and passion for learning and using the latest in the world of education and technology. The institution's impressive technological acquisitions bear testimony to his modern vision.
'Never show resistance.' Shri. Vinay Kumar's words echo a profound and vital message for life indeed. A message, of honourably accepting life's challenges, that he practised; a value that he inculcated in the fraternity, whom he taught to be really sincere in effort.
26 November 2009- Shri. Vinay Kumar, beloved and revered, a divine soul- passed away. A pall of gloom, bereavement descended. But, 'each atom of matter', each vital spark, in DPS Vasant Kunj contains Shri. Vinay Kumar's eternity. The legacy of excellence endures.
