Girls BasketBall Team Achievement
- School Girls Basket ball Team won Gyan bharati Basket ball tournament, which was held in the last week of April.
Varuni Beotra got the ‘Best player’ award of the tournament.
- School Girls Basket ball team under 16 won the Bal Bharati Public school Pitam Pura
For the second consecutive time under the captaincy of Varuni Beotra and Vice Captainship of Arundhati.
Divangana Singh was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Other awards:
- Nishita got an award of Rs.25000 . from Basket ball federation of India.
- Divanagana and Arundhati got an awrad of Rs.10000 as scholarship from School Games federation of India.
- Varuni Beotra got Rs.40000 worth Adidas shoes and Rs.25000 Adidas Gift vouchers.
NIE student of the Year
Shubham Chawla of Class X was adjudged the NIE Student of the Year for overall excellence.
- SPELL BEE COMPETITION
14 students of DPS Vasant Kunj participated in the CITY FINALE of SPELL BEE COMPETITION organised by The Times of India NIE and HDFC Life Insurance, on April 8, 2012. Out of a total of 316, 3 students were among the 10 finalists. They were: Bhargavi Goel of 8A, Ananya Nijhawan of 10 C and Ishita Panda of 10 F. Ananya Nijhawan won the First Runner- up Position and Ishita Panda won the Second Runner- up Position in this prestigious competition.
Earth Day Competition
Earth Day competition was organized by Development Alternatives.
Aditya Mehrotra of Class X-A got First prize for Photography competition.
Shivani sazawal of class XI-A got Second prize for Painting competition.
Ishita Panda of Class X-F got Third prize for On the spot Story writing competition.
Basket ball
Nishita Sabharwal represented Delhi State in the National Level Basket Ball Tournament. She was also awarded a cash prize of Rs.5000.
Bal Bharati Pitam pura organized Interschool computer symposium on 20th April 2012. Code warriors, our computer club members were declared First runners up. Shubham Gupta and Sahil Bakshi of Class XI won second prize in Robotics event.
An Inter-DPS Sanskrit Bhashotsabha for classes 6-10 was organised on 4th may 2012 at DPS Faridabad.

National Level Inter -School Golf Tournament was held at Qutub Golf course for 23rd to 25th April in which students from various schools participated .
Nazm Prasad of class 11th was the winner in category” A “ girls .
APEEJAY, Saket organised “Chunauti” The silver jubilee celebrations of and won the second prize in the Interschool French solo singing competition.

A cultural festival was organized in G D Goenka paying tribute to Rabinra on his 151st birth anniversary elebrating his versatilities. Our school won the second position in Dance, Msic and Poetry .
SURABHI GUPTA of class 10 won the third prize in ‘ make your mother smile ‘
Essay writing compertition organized by NIE ,The Times of india . she received a certificate of
merit from the former president of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at his official residence .
THE GAYATRI DEVI CUKTURAL FEST WAS ORGANIZED BY GDGOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL between the 1st and 4th of May .The school band IRIS got many prizes namely

“Tribute toTagore”
G D Goenka Vasant Kunj hosted a three day long event under which various competitions were held , such an event called ‘Tribute toTagore’ was held in which a group of students went in which they had to perform a group dance , poetry recitation and group song on Tagore’s verses . Our team successfully overcame the challenge and bagged the second position. The participants were:

D.P.S Society conducts DPS Science and Maths Talent Examination every year for class 9.the exam is conducted at two levels, level 1 is mandatory for all class ninth students top five hundred international rankers are selected for level two form amongst whom top 100 students are awarded a one time scholarship of rs.4000 each by DPS society.
