The morning of 26 March 2010 was a fun filled one as the students of class VII interacted with the renowned writer Smt Surekha Panandikar. Organized by the Hindi department, this guest speaker programme helped children understand the nuances of story telling and helped encourage the reading habit. Smt Pandikar is the President of the Lekhika Sangh and the Bachpan Society for children's literature. With around 60 books to her credit she writes mainly for children and on social issues. She discussed her story "Kurd Andolan" with the children and also narrated "Dadi ki Saree" in a unique way accompanying it with a musical instrument. This entertaining session came to an end with an interactive round of questions between the writer and the students followed by the vote of thanks being proposed by the head of Hindi /Sanskrit Department Mrs Veena Negi.
