MATHS WEEK- MATHEMANIA (13th July to 15th July’11)
Math is everywhere and what better way than through exciting activities which give them the opportunity to hone their skills and discover the fun and joy in doing so.
The Principal, Ms. Bindu Sehgal, and Vice Principal, Ms. Rachna Gupta, commenced the week by lighting the lamp of knowledge and blessing the children. DAY 1
The students of class III enjoyed doing the CROSSWORD which was an INTRACLASS COMPETITION based on mathematical skills.
All the students of class IV participated actively in the INTER-SECTION QUIZ by cheering the participants. The various rounds in the quiz primarily tested the ability to solve questions with speed. DAY 2
An INTRASECTION COMPETITION ‘COLOURFUL MATHS’ was organized for the students of class III which tested the simple concepts of addition and subtraction intermingled with art.
An INTER- HOUSE DRESS DESIGNING COMPETITION was held for the students of class V. The students designed beautiful dresses and accessories using geometrical shapes and qualified to become future dress designers of the country. The students enjoyed the activity tremendously.
GUESS MY NUMBER, an INTRA- CLASS COMPETITION was organized for the students of class VI. It tested the logical reasoning of the students using the concept of integers. DAY 3
The students of class IV created beautiful patterns in 2-D and 3-D in the INTRA – CLASS COMPETITION GEOMETRIC SCULPTURES.
The INTRA-CLASS COMPETITION, SUMPTUOUS SHAPES, involved all the students of class V presenting the food items in amazing geometrical shapes. Food never looked so tempting before!!!
Class VI students showcased their computer skills in the INTER-SECTION POWER POINT PRESENTATION COMPETITION.
The highlight of the week was the movie show organized at the DT Promenade for all the students of classes II-VI. They thoroughly enjoyed the movie CARS II shown to them on different days during the week.
Math Week was indeed an entertaining and exciting event as children enjoyed all the activities thoroughly.
