The Hindi Sanskrit Week began on a good note and on a bright sunny Tuesday, i.e. 6th September 2011, in the weekly assembly, with a light breeze blowing and a partial cloudy sky. The assembly started with a prayer by the school choir along with a group song, followed by the ‘thought for the day’ and ‘news’. The Hindi-Sanskrit week was then officially declared open by the HOD-Hindi Deptt., Ms. Veena Negi, who enlightened the assembly with her words on ‘Importance of Hindi’. Then Principal, Mrs. Bindu Sehgal addressed the gathering on the upcoming events. The rest of the week was filled with fun and exuberance by the students from classes VII-X. The activities to be held for the rest of the week included Hindi Essay Writing, Sanskrit Hand Writing, ‘Hasya Kavita (Hindi)’, Quiz in Hindi and Sanskrit Poster and Slogan Writing (Hindi).
Students showed equal interest and enthusiasm for all events and participated whole heartedly with vigour. On Friday, was the final day of the week long celebrations. Students were awarded prizes for all the activities held and were appreciated. At the end, a vote of thanks was also extended by Principal, Mrs. Bindu Sehgal and Vice Principal, Mrs. Rachna Gupta, and they even appreciated the Hindi Deptt. for their dedication and hard work on making the event a success.
