The idea conceptualized by the Vice Principal, Ms. Rachna Gupta, became an instant success which was palpable in terms of attendance and response it elicited from everyone present for the occasion. The stint began with the Lighting of the Lamp by the Principal, Ms. Bindu Sehgal, and the VP, Ms. Rachna Gupta. The Principal spoke about the pivotal role played by the grandparents in the grandchildren’s lives. She cheered them as they uphold and pass down values, beliefs, traditions to the younger generations and bond the family members with one another. The students mesmerized the audience with melodious songs and an enthralling dance. The grandparents also put up an entertaining show of old songs, patriotic and religious poems and talks on relevant issues. The VP proposed the Vote of Thanks by expressing her gratitude for the grandparents for being pillars of strength, love and devotion for their grandchildren and giving them company, guidance and unconditional support throughout their lives. After the tea break, they proceeded to the classrooms and engaged in various activities with the children like meditation, story-telling, singing, origami, theatre etc. It was indeed a unique and enriching experience for everyone.
