From The Desk of The Principal

Greetings to all.

Once again, its that time of the year, when one evaluates the achievements, recapitulates the work done and measures the success earned. We redeem our pledge to provide quality education that is comprehensive in nature, geared for the growth of the intellect and instills strength of character to the future generations of our country.

I also think that at the root of the progress and evolution of DPS Vasant Kunj is our commitment to inculcate amongst our students, the ethics and the right code of conduct and a value system that is inherently Indian; symbolic of our rich heritage and culture; fused with a global outlook.
The unfathomable powers to the human mind have always amazed me. Along with touching the zenith of academic excellence our earnest endeavour at DPS Vasant Kunj is to help our children fill their life with the light of positivity. In the words of Oscar Wilde, “The aim of life is self development – to realize one’s nature perfectly” – In all these years as a teacher I have realized that if the fertile soil of the mind, is enriched with the values of love, kindness and patience – the saplings of good education and character will grow into strong trees and bear good fruits.

Thus, the result, is for all to see. In keeping with our vision, purpose and our aim, we at DPS Vasant Kunj, provide a unique infrastructure and landscape requisite for the 21st century oriented educational institution.

In terms of providing qualitative infrastructure the school currently has four different blocks, two each for the junior and senior wing respectively which are most aesthetically and ergonomically designed to suit students at all levels. We have reached another milestone on the road to success. Our hostel which has most modern facilities to cater to students from all over the country, reinforces our aim to provide quality education amidst sylvan environments, as an idyllic background, for an ideal learning and educative process. Inclusive to this, is the provision of two sets of fully equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology and computer science. In addition, two sets of rooms for fine arts, dance and music are also provided. Supplement to these are the additional facilities of mini-theatre, amphi-theatre, three libraries, three multimedia laboratories one with dedicated Internet Lease Line connection. We also have state of the art IT labs, fashion technology lab, German and Maths lab.
Our school subscribes to the adage, a healthy body houses a healthy mind; so for sports and recreation, the school has two basketball courts,a lawn tennis court, an international standard cricket pitch and a football field.Hence, our school is poised for a quantum leap to the 21st Century.

An institution cannot be progressive if it moves in isolation. We at DPS Vasant Kunj have firm faith in EQUITY WITH EXCELLENCE and to fulfil our commitment to the society we have opened our doors to meritorious but visually challenged students who want to study in the main stream. Another step in the cause of the society is the DPS Vasant Kunj Shiksha Kendra which started functioning in July 2003. Our Shiksha Kendra is run in the school premises itself in the afternoon shift and currently 203 students from the underpriviliged section of the society are getting free education along with free books, school bag and uniform.

I take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have helped us in this endeavour and I also congratulate our staff and students for their hard work and commitment to this cause.

I hope, with the combined effort of my team, goodwill of our friends and blessing of our patrons, our school will continue to evolve consistently.
