Achievements of Yash Bhargava

Class - III-E

DPS Vasant Kunj

 

 

It would be apt to call Yash Bhargava a Mini Dynamo. This small boy is an epitome of undying energy.

Yash, aged 8yrs, started skating at an early age of 3 yrs and skated 65kms from New Delhi to Manesar in a rally lending support to the blind.

In Oct 2004 he won 3rd position in 24™ Super National Skating Championship

He won Bronze Medal in 7th CBSE Nationals representing DPS Vasant Kunj (North Zone) Chandigarh, among top 15 national skaters from five zones in India. To qualify to the CBSE Nationals he also won Bronze Medal in the North Zone held at New Delhi.

Recently he won four medals (3-> gold and 1->silver) at the 35th Delhi State Roller Skating Championship. He also won the overall speed trophy in the under 8yrs category.

He also represented Noida Sports Complex Team in 35th Delhi State Roller Skating Hockey Championship under 12 yrs category and won gold medal. Yash was also adjudged the Man of the Tournament as he scored 8 goals in the championship.

In March 2005 he was the youngest to roll on skates for the first time from New Delhi all the way to Jaipur (257km) and in succession for the third time in March 2007.

So far Yash has taken his medal tally to 45 by participating at national, state and inter school competitions, which includes gold-> 22 sliver ->13 bronze-> 10

Apart from skating his interests also include playing squash. In 2006 he also won 4th position in all North India Open Championship at Delhi (in under 9yrs category).

 

 

 

Monica Priyadarshani, topped DPMT 2006 and a student of DPS, Vasant Kunj, shares her success tip with his teacher. Given below is an excerpt of an interview of this Dipsite, who has done all of us proud!!

 

Reporter             : How many hours of study did you put in?

Monica              : It is the quality of time that matters more than the quantity though both are essential. Concentration is very important.

Reporter             : Was it all study and no play?

Monica              : Study is important but play is equally important. Relaxation of mind refreshes and rejuvenates our spirit to pursue our goal with focus and determination. For relaxation I listen to music. 

Reporter             : What were the reactions to your results?

Monica              : I was overjoyed and could not believe it. It was a very humbling moment for me.

 Reporter            : How do you feel now that you are about to go to a medical college?

Monica               : I am very happy that I am taking a step forward to my dreams of becoming a doctor and relieving people from their pains.

Reporter             : Who helped you the most?

Monica              : My teachers have played a major role in my success. Without their encouragement and support it could not have been possible. My parents and brother used to always motivate me to do better. My school D.P.S., Vasant Kunj has always guided me.

Reporter             : Do you have any message for friends at D.P.S., Vasant Kunj and other students?

Monica              : Be focused and determined from the beginning. Always strive for more. Nothing is impossible. With God’s blessings and good wishes from all the people around you success is sure in any field.

Gunjan Mangla,  48th Rank, DPMT 2006 and a student of DPS, Vasant Kunj, shares her success tip with her teacher. Given below is an excerpt of an interview of this Dipsite, who has done all of us proud!!

Reporter         :  How much did you study for the examinations?

Gunjan           :   I think the key to success is regular hardwork.

Reporter         :  Who helped you the most?

Gunjan           : The school and the coaching both played a major role. I am thankful to my teachers who helped me by creating interest in the subject and once that happens studying hard is not much of a burden.

Reporter          :  Who is your role model?

Gunjan           : My parents who are both doctors are my role model and a constant source of inspiration for me.

Reporter         :  Which all entrance examinations have you qualified?

Gunjan          :  Besides getting 48th Rank in DPMT, I have also qualified Manipal where my position is 131 and I have also cleared C.B.S.E. entrance exam.

Reporter        : Do you have any message for friends at D.P.S., Vasant Kunj and other students?

Gunjan           :  I would just like to say that it is very important to keep a positive attitude in life and never lose hope. I was lucky to get good, conducive environment in the school which helped me study with a positive approach.

Pranav Ish,  4th Rank, DPMT 2006 and a student of DPS, Vasant Kunj, shares his success tip with his teacher. Given below is an excerpt of an interview of this Dipsite, who has done all of us proud!!

Reporter     :     Which all entrance examinations have you qualified?

Pranav       :     Besides getting 4th Rank in DPMT, I have qualified for Manipal where my position is  68th. I have been selected in Aligarh Muslim University for MBBS Course and secured 426th rank in the CBSE AIPMT Exam.

Reporter     :    What else  are you doing besides getting ready to be a part of the medical college?

Pranav        :   Presently I am undergoing training program at ‘Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’ Mumbai for final selection in ‘International Biology Olympiad’ to be held in Argentina after being selected at the National level, where I was awarded Gold Medal.

Reporter     :    Who helped you the most?

Pranav        :    My achievements in academics are purely the gift of my school. Along with the support from the school, my hard work has paid off.

Reporter     :     Do you have any message for friends at D.P.S., Vasant Kunj and other students?

Pranav           :  I would just like to say that success is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration, so hardwork and planned studies are the key to success; atleast it has come true in my case. I am thankful to Principal sir, all the  teachers and staff members who have always support and encouraged me to achieve my goals. I express my heartfelt thanks for gracious attitude.

Utsav Lal

Utsav Lal, born on 18th August 1992 at the age of 13 yrs, is the Youngest Certified Concert Pianist in India.
Having completed his grade 7 certification from Trinity in a time span of less than 4 years, Utsav is today a certified western classical pianist from the Trinity School of Music, London.

He has been performing live since the age of 7, initially on the keyboard and then on the piano.

Utsav has undergone his initial training under two of the most respected pianists in India : Brian Silas, king of nostalig melodies and John Raphael, principal of Delhi School of Music.

Utsav sits at the piano without any notes and fluidly churns out melodies; almost making the piano sing and plays continuously for over 2 hours. The versatility of Utsav as a pianist is evident in the choice of his renditions playing melodies from the past and the present.

Main Focus : to create and keep music from the rich Indian heritage (compositions of legendry musicians like Naushad, Shankar Jaikishan, L.Pyarelal) that children his age and the coming generations will perhaps not even recognize over a period of time.

 

Sakshi Jain

Sakshi Jain passed out DPS Vasant Kunj  in 2004. She secured "25th rank" in Delhi PMT 2004. She also got selected in CBSE (Mains - 634 rank), IIT Prelims, Manipal PMT (Medical 50th Rank) Biotech 2nd rank and Engineering) She secured 91% in XII results with 97% in Biology. In MBBS 1st year professional exam, she secured 70% with distinction in one subject (Physiology)

Saakshi Jain - 2

Sakshi Jain a meritorious student of D.P.S. Vasant Kunj, New Delhi passed All India Senior School Certificate Examination in the year 2003 and was awarded the certificate of merit for being among the top 0.1% of successful candidates in Economics. Besides her high academic performance, she has a flair for Art and has won many prizes, certificates and appreciates for her skill in Arts at various competitions organized by National and International organizations.

Sakshi was one of the successful candidates out of 6000 who appeared in the All India Entrance Test of National Institute of Design Ahmedabad in 2003 and is a student of animation film design (currently in 3rd year). She aspires to be a film maker. She has authored a book titled "Who am I?/ Main Kaun Hoon". This is a bilingual for the beginners and has been published by Tulika Publishers, Chennai.

One of her new concepts on animation was appreciated by an International Jury Comprising of members from Hong Kong, New York and Delhi.

 

Shivali Sehgal

Shivali Sehgal a student of DPS, Vasant Kunj since 1991 was Rank 4 in the AIPMT, Rank 36 in DPMT. She also got selected at the Aligarh Muslim University, Manipal University and AFMC.She also cleared screening exam of IIT but did not sit for the mains after being selected in medical entrance. She was rank 19 in Biotechnology all India entrance exam of IP university. She scored 91.8% for her class XII board exams. She shares her success tips with her teacher. Given below is an excerpt of an interview of this Dipsite, who has done all of us proud!

Reporter     :-   How many hours of study did you put in?

Shivali        :-   "I was regular and organized my schedule so as to complete a  given topic on a particular day. The hours of studies varied. However just  before the entrance exams the study hours were much more but I never compromised on my sleep"

Reporter     :-   Was it all study and no play?

Shivali        :-    "I worked very hard but made it a point to have regular breaks. I went for walks, watched T.V., surfed the net etc."

Reporter     :-    What were the reactions to your results?

Shivali        :-    "The day I got selected in Delhi medical entrance was one of the happiest days of my life. It is very difficult to describe in words the  joy  I felt on seeing my dreams come true. There was a sense of achievement but now I am back to normal and ready to start a new chapter in my life."

Reporter     :-   How do you feel now that you are about to go to a medical college?

Shivali        :-    "I am very enthusiastic about joining the same medical college  where my father studied. I feel glad about stepping into my parents'  profession."

Reporter     :-       Who helped you the most?

Shivali        :-    "I thank God for showering me with all his blessings. I owe a lot to my parents who believed in me and supported me throughout. I cannot  express how grateful I am to my teachers who did wonders to my personality  by guiding and encouraging me with love. A lot of credit goes to our  Principal for creating a healthy atmosphere in the school.

Reporter     :-   Do you have any message for friends at D.P.S., Vasant Kunj and other students?

Shivali  :-          "Believe in yourself and give your best to all that you  do. Never take failure to your heart and success to your  head. Fix a goal, each day strive your best to attain it and leave the rest to God."

Gyanit Singh

Gyanit Singh has been a student of DPS Vasant Kunj for several years now he has shown consistently good academic performances throughout. He has secured the FIRST rank in Delhi IITs in 2002 and the12th rank at the All India level.We are proud to him and we wish him all the very best. 

Reporter      :-    Maths is a subject that most students dread. What attracted you to it?

Gyanit          :     "I don't think Maths is scary. Maths is logical. The thrill and excitement I got in solving problems attracted me towards it. "

Reporter      :     What is your Study strategy?

Gyanit          :-    "To be a regular in studies is the strategy I follow "

Reporter      :-    How do you take the pressure to be a winner again?

Gyanit          :-    "I just concentrated on my studies and never thought about the pressure".

Reporter      :-    Do you think the school has played a major role in helping you achieve your goals?

Gyanit          :-    "Yes school plays a vital role in helping a student achieve his goal as it gives the right kind of exposure at the right time. The guidance of teachers is invaluable."

Reporter      :-    How do you unwind in your spare time?

Gyanit          :-    "I watch TV and play circket."

Reporter      :-    Do you have any role model?

Gyanit          :-    "My role model is my father"

Reporter      :-    What is your ultimate aim in life and how do you plan to achieve it?

Gyanit          :-    I don't have any ultimate aim as such but at present it is to become a successful Computer Engineer. For that I would like to do my B. Tech from IIT. "

Reporter      :-    What is your motto in life?

Gyanit          :-    "My motto in life is "Never Say Die".

Karan Madan

Karan Madan, Topped DPMT 2000 and a student of DPS, Vasant Kunj, shares his success tips with his teacher. Given below is an excerpt of an interview of this Dipsite, who has done all of us proud!

Reporter      :-    How many hours of study did you put in?

Karan          :-    "I didn’t have fixed hours for study. But I planned my studies so as to complete a given topic in a specified period of time."

Reporter      :-             Was it all study and no play?

Karan          :-    "No, no, no – play was an essential part of my routine. It’s a wonderful tool of recreation and it refreshes the mind. I loved my basket ball game."

Reporter      :-    What were the reactions to your results?\

Karan          :-    There was undoubtedly a sense of achievement and happiness. But very soon the feeling was over. Now I am back to normal – all ready to begin studies.

Reporter      :-    How do you feel now that you are about to go to a medical college?

Karan          :-    "I feel relieved right now. The preparations and exams were an immense tension. Now, its all eased away."

Reporter      :-    Who helped you the most?

Karan          :-    "My parents were always by my side constantly helping to search my bearings. I owe a lot of my success to them. Credit also goes to my school, D.P.S., Vasant Kunj for my achievements. It always guided me. I had teachers constantly ready with any kind of information. I could always count on them for any query."

Reporter      :-    Do you have any message for friends at D.P.S., Vasant Kunj and other students?

Karan          :-    "I’d like to say that one must have faith in one’s self. Believe in yourself and give your best to all that you do. Never compromise on your attention and time. Pray to God, he gives you the strength to perform well. Be determined and confident of your aim."
