From the Desk of the Principal

‘Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.’
Jonathan Swift.
The ‘Dips E-Vision Junior’ is yet another step towards
our ceaseless efforts to provide our children with different portals from where
they can express themselves freely, In today’s fast moving world, it has become
essential to have a foresight to peep into the future but we often set our
sights too low. I
I firmly believe that we constantly need to broaden the scope
of our horizons, extend the depth of our vision and see more in us than we think
there is to be seen to be able to taken on the future rather than being taken
over by the surprises it has in store for everyone.
Also keeping in view the fact that computers have become an
indispensable part of our lives especially in the urban areas we expose our
students to the latest softwares and hardwares catering to the specific age -
groups beginning as early as class I.
Therefore, I am convinced that it is time to integrate them
into our education system in a myriad ways. It is also time to give our little
darlings of junior school a platform of their own from where they can give way
to their creativity.
I wish them good luck with their very own E-Magazine and hope
that they will voice their views openly. I also sincerely wish that they will be
able to make some valuable contribution towards taking our society on the path
of goodness and humanity for the onus is now on the young shoulders.
Wish you a very good luck, children!
Principal
Vinay Kumar

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only
plan, but also believe.

Preface

The D.P.S. fraternity has grown largely in the past few
years. Our chairman, honorable Mr. Narendra Kumar, has brought new dimensions
and new meanings to the noble profession of teaching. He has deviced ways and
means to make the best use of education to attain the higher goal of a just
society by producing globally responsible citizens rather than producing more
students.
DPS has never followed but has made followers. It has done
pioneering work in almost all the fields of school education. The E-Vision,
presented by the students and teachers of D.P.S., V.K. (Jr. School), is yet
another endeavour to provide our students with an opportunity to express
themselves freely and evolve as truly creative and openminded individuals of the
society. I sincerely hope and wish that our E-Vision will provide another
platform to our students, especially the junior school children, to grow wings of
creativity and soar higher and higher.
Therefore, in consonance with our very own chairman’s vision
we nurture his......
‘........dream of unleashing the intellectual energies of our
students and the dream of encouraged and empowered youth embracing its personal
and global responsibilities’.
I also take this opportunity to thank our principal, Mr.
Vinay Kumar, without whose constant support, encouragement and unwavering belief
in his staff, this e-magazine would not have been possible.
I, on behalf of the entire staff, proudly present the first
edition of our E-vision.

"My Life is My Message"

His Greatness lay in his simplicity
We dedicate this compilation to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of
our Nation, who is regarded as the greatest Indian since Gautam Budha and as the
greatest man since Jesus Christ by the writer of great eminence, John Haynes
Holmes.
‘Gandhi’ no longer remains just a name but has become synonymous with ‘Truth,
Love and Non-Violence’ Gandhi stands for certain values which have crossed all
boundaries of caste, colour, creed, religion and time. The message that we all
can learn from his life has relevance for all times and for all climes. What he
practised is capable of being practised by all. The lesson of honesty and
tolerance preached by him should be taught all over the world if we want to save
mankind from self-destruction.

INDEPENDENCE

When the British came to our motherland,
They took India
in their own hands,
By treating us as slaves.
Is this the way to behave ?
For a long period of time,
India faded away and lost all hope,
People were too sad and cried all night,
And nightingales stopped singing their songs.
Suddenly,
A beautiful rainbow came,
And it immediately started to rain,
Something good was about to come our way,
Which would bring us joy and make us gay.
Mahatma Gandhi came to us,
Who was simple yet bright,
And
always shone like an
eternal light
Many extremists came to fight,
thinking it was their right,
Many of them died,
But never lost hope or cried.
This led us to freedom,
Now we are an independent nation,
Which, I hope, will always remain happy.
As it has its own rules and regulations.

50 Years of Independence and still not FREE

It has been five decades since we achieved Independence but
still we can see naked urchins dying of cold and heat and the condition of the
lower income group is a well-known secret.
Good morning teachers, judges and my dear friends ! Today, I,
Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, stand before you to speak for the motion "fifty years of
freedom and still not free". Before getting down to a blame game, I would like
to describe poverty as a process.
Globalization is an unavoidable phenomenon in our times. With
it, it brings along identity crisis in the psyche of the affected culture. This
leads to insularity. A rat-race follows, ending in most of the resources being
controlled by a few hands. In these circumstances things like national character
and integrity seem to be sham. And it naturally culminates into the spread of
poverty.
India with its plethora of co-existing cultures had always
been vulnerable to this process. The blame should be on either everyone or no
one because globalization wasn’t handled in a matured way.
Now the blame game starts. It’s become a cliché but it starts
off with our politicians in the arena, who instead of mending the situation are
making it go worse. I don’t have to get down to the details. Next in the line of
fire is the electorate who have turned a blind eye towards national progress and
indulged in bigotry. The victims are ultimately the have-nots. For them the
ladders towards personal development are made inaccessible by the existing
socio-cultural conditions. The need of the hour is to remove this fixation from
the self. Rising crime-graphs, scandals and a general complacence to it all is a
result of this problem. There’s a veil of prejudice over the Indian psyche. That
needs to be lifted as soon as possible. This isn’t possible through the
hypocritical education- system, but through genuine introspection.
Taking all that I’ve said into account, I can simply say, "We
aren’t free"
Sanjeeta Bhattacharya

"GIRLS ALWAYS HAVE IT BETTER
THAN BOYS"
The better half, the fairer sex, Ladies First, Ladies
compartment etc.etc.
I ask all the less fortunate this, is this not a day in & day
out experience for all of us.
Tell me!!
Without meaning any offence to anyone; especially my teachers
who all belong to the fairer sex, I appeal to you all, to scrap this debate.
There is no need to debate on this. It is well known, well
established & we all face it everyday - YES GIRLS DO HAVE IT BETTER THAN BOYS.
Honourable judges, respected teachers and my dear friends,
All the deals that a boy gets are raw deals.
When a girl born, she is showered with lovely dresses &
jewellery by the relative but the poor boy gets some odd cash which his parents
spend the way they like.
Young girls are worshipped as goddesses on certain festivals.
Is there any festival where boys are placed on the pedestal? I am sure you can
recollect none. On the contrary you’d be shocked to know that young boys are
sacrificed in goddess’s temples in some parts of our country.
My worthy opponent is very soon going to cite examples of
Female foeticide & Dowry deaths but tell me - Can a female foeticide be ever
done without the consent of the mother? & can a dowry death occur without the
involvement of the mother-in-law ?
It is women all along, and it has been rightly said that:-
THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE, RULES THE WORLD.
Friends the favours that the fairer sex gets are not just in
the society but in the judiciary, education and the employment.
She gets greater income tax exemption, she has dowry cells &
Crime against women cells at her beck & call, there are women’s colleges and
women’s seats and women’s compartments. The list is unending there are women’s
quota everywhere.
The agony is that despite all this the grand lady may just
decide to marry a rich man & enjoy the luxuries without any effort at earning.
Not just this she may even send the poor man behind bars on false allegations of
dowry & harassment. Let me remind you there are no men’s cells & no crime
against men departments.
I have just given you a birds eye view, give me some more
time and I will pour my heart out to you.
The society and the system are all biased against the poor
men. I hope my words give you some food for thought and make it a better,
livable society for us poor souls. Thank you.

A Letter from God
|
Once, God had become very angry with humans, for their
bad habit of disturbing nature for their greed
Expressing these very feelings, he wrote a letter which
you will now read:
Dear Humans,
You have made me very angry,
What right do you have to take away
The life of a tree,
You kill animals too,
|
 |
 |
For your selfish needs.
Humans, please O please,
Do some good deeds.
You not only divided yourselves,
You actually divided me,
Into those stupid things,
Which you call a nationality.
Dividing yourselves, into nationalities,
You caused so much dissemination,
That I m’ afraid of the fact that,
You are my creation.
Humans, please O please,
Learn to live with peace.
|
|
I must end here,
For I can go no further,
From God,
Your creator"
I hope this letter will inspire you,
To try and find,
A solution to save nature
And thus save all mankind
