Current Notice :: Letter to the Parents 2nd April 2010

Dear Parents,

Standing on the threshold of time, as I look back on the journey, I thank God in true spirit as the sapling that was planted in 1994 is today a young tree, branching out to touch new horizons. For us at DPS Vasant Kunj the search for excellence is an ongoing process to which we are constantly and sincerely committed. I take this opportunity to thank you for the faith you have reposed in us and it is largely due to your support that we stand where we are today.

Development and progress are the hallmark of a good institution and keeping this as our motto, we constantly make efforts to better ourselves. To ensure that learning is a meaningful and fruitful exercise, we continuously strive to pave the way for a technology-aided system. We are pleased to inform you that the Senior Computer Lab has been modernised and refurbished with the latest technology and new Apple machines. To meet the latest requirements in the field of Maths, a Maths Lab has been setup and become fully operational. The introduction of a German Lab and a state of the art IT Lab prove our earnestness towards providing our learners with the best facilities. A recent advancement has been the launch of our blog—a platform for communication and healthy exchange of ideas. You are requested to check the school website for all new developments.

We are pleased to inform you that we have an excellent Clinic and a full time Doctor and Nursing Sister, as well as a standby Ambulance, to meet any emergency efficiently and effectively. The school shell bear the medical expenses of any student who incurs an injury in the school premises, if the parents so desire.

To meet the total learning needs of the students we have designed and developed a series of workbooks in all subjects and for all classes. A separate set of study material booklets have been designed and developed in all subjects for classes X, XI and XII. They are meant to reinforce concepts taught, thus enabling the child to go that extra mile beyond the text.
Yoga has been integrated into the regular curriculum with the aim of developing concentration skills among children and helping them cope with the self imposed pressures of today’s life. Truly, growth of the intellect is only possible when the mind is without fear. It is indeed heartening to see the school prosper and surge ahead full throttle. You will be happy to know that 11 of our students have qualified in various sporting events at the National Level.

We look forward to your keen involvement in all our endeavours so that we can work together for the benefit of our children. We request your cooperation in the following :

    • To monitor the number of visitors we would request you to use the Green Appointment Card given in the almanac. Please visit the school only at the appointed time after obtaining the teacher’s consent. We request you not to meet the teachers while classes are on.
    • Please note that no child should be taken home during school hours except in an emergency, in which case adequate permission and gate pass must be obtained from the Vice Principal/Headmistress.
    • Students traveling privately must be dropped at Gate No. 3 and should not be escorted inside the school. No student is permitted to come to school in a self-driven car.
    • No student is allowed to carry cell phones/ I- pods/MP3 players to school. Non compliance will lead to confiscation, a fine of rupees one thousand and strict disciplinary action. Parents are requested to switch off their phones and deposit them at the main gate as they are not allowed in the school premises.
    • Please do not send any sweets, toffees or other eatables to celebrate your ward’s birthday.
    • You are requested to read the almanac as this is an important link between you and the school and also acquaints you with all school rules. It needs to be duly filled and updated with the required data.
    • We hope that you have deposited the form regarding the Medical History of your ward duly filled, with your ward's Class Teacher. It is a endeavour to ensure the safety and security of our students.
