Consumer Council
Founded in the July of 2004, the Consumer Care Council (3 Cs) owes its existence to its founding members. Teachers Dr. (Mrs) Poonam Bhasin and Mrs. Arti Prasad, also supported by the ex-students Rishabh Bhargava and Shreya Misra. The 3Cs primarily aims at spreading consumer awareness rights, duties, responsibilities and it also acts as an instrument against prevalent malpractices like false claims, adultery, high prices, deficiency services, deceptive packing etc. The D.P.S. Society has pioneered in this respect by the commencement of 3Cs and hopes to make its students, responsible citizens.
Report 2007-08
The Consumer Care Council with primary aim of
spreading consumer awareness about rights,
duties and responsibilities organized an
awareness program for class 7th.
Students were educated about the basic consumer
rights and other important facts they should
keep in mind before buying products.
The council organized inter-class debate
competitions for class 11th. The
presidents Amritanshu Kar and Ana Abbas gave an
informative speech about the need for consumer
programs. The event saw an active participation
from all the classes , and current issues were
raised.
Pankhuri Jha and Sargam Sardana
of Class 11-I were judged as the best speaker and interjector followed by
Aprajita and Arushi of class 11- G.
Karan Mehra of XI-D was judged
the best overall interjector

TERM REPORT ( 2006)
CONFEST '06
'A Consumer fiesta' Confest '06, an annual Consumer Fiesta of
Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, was organized, on 20th December in the school
premises. The school was to host 8 participating teams representing various
schools of Delhi. The exhaustive list of activities organized included Poster
making and Slogan writing, Street play, JAM, Symposium and Group discussion.
RYAN International, with the highest accumulated score, after participating in
these activities was declared the winner. The valedictory session held on the
same day, saw the winners take away the prizes for the various events.
Speaking on the occasion, the school principal, Shri Vinay Kumar, lauded the
efforts of the council and the entire team for hosting such an eventful and
learning session. The Vice - Principal Mrs.Rachna Pandit also appreciated the
efforts of the council. The Chief Guest and member DPS society, Mr. Pramod
Grover also congratulated the school for the success of the event. Mr. Grover
also released the consumer care council magazine. The function ended with the
theme song.
The Consumer Care Council, DPS Society has been very active in organizing
inter-council interactions, mostly in the form of competitions.
3 inter-council competitions had been held in the past term.
• A Theme Song
Competition was held at D.P.S. Indirapuram, on the 22nd of August. Our Musical
15 presented their composition on the theme, "Assert Rights, Pursue Remedies."
under the guidance of Mishra Sir, and Seema Suri Mam. The catchy lyrics, like
"Jo bhi kharido, pehele lo uski puri jankari" and "saaf safayi, wajib
keemat aur dekho tareek" and sharp music got us the 1st position ion the
competition.
• D.P.S Dadri organized
a poster making competition on the theme, "Ads ka hai Zamana, Bechara
consumer bana deewana!" This competition was open to classes IX and XI. The
entries were filed on the 30th of August. The result is awaited.
• We, DPS VK organized a
Collage Making Competition, and 13 DPSs' participated in it. The entries were
filed by Aug. 7th, and evaluated by Ms Aruna Ummat, Director, HRDC,
DPS Society, and Ms Suleena Sapra, Director, EECC, DPS Society. DPS VK bagged
the 2nd position in group B (class IX).
