Morning Assemblies   

  1. The CEEC had organized the Earth Day Special Assembly on the occasion of Earth Day which was on 22nd April 2008.
    The assembly commenced with the translation of shlokas and was followed by children chanted shlokas invoking the divine grace of Mother Earth. Further Anisha Das of V-A recited a poem titled 'Earth Day' and Jhunjhun of X-C recited her self composed poem The Earth Hits Back' which highlighted the agony of earth and repercussions of our actions. Aishwarya Gulati of X-C shared her views on 'Earth Day'. The assembly concluded with the oath taking ceremony and the National Anthem.
    The efforts were appreciated by the Principal and he lauded the work being done by the CEEC and the support staff.



  2. The students also attended the Earth Day celebrations organized by the Development Alternatives (Clean India), which was held at Dilli Haat on 22nd April 2008 at 4.00 p.m. The students had prepared posters conveying the message - 'Save the Earth'. The gathering was addressed by the Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dixit. They had formed a human chain for the same. Various schools who had participated had put up skits and Nukkad Natak and there was band that had also performed. It was an enriching experience for the students.

Assembly By Chenab House on 11.Dec.07

The morning assembly was conducted by the Chenab House on 11.Dec.07. lt began with a melodious rendition of the song 'No Rain' by Pearl and Radhapriya of DPS VK. The prayer was administered by the principal Mr Vinay Kumar. The theme for the day was Education and its larger aims which was illustrated both by the Thought and the Article for the day.....

' True education aims at cultivating a mind that thinks with clarity ; a heart that fee's one with humanity and a spirit that celebrates life in all its splendor......(Thought for the day)

The article iterated the fact how education goes beyond the confines of the classroom and is a lifelong process of learning that urges us to become responsible students to our teachers, children to our parents as well as sensitive national and global citizens.

Shweta of class 11 extended a warm welcome to the Singapore delegation consisting of 9 students and 2 teachers who are here as a part of a training project.The students from Singapore appeared on the stage along with their host friends. The escorting teachers thanked DPS for giving them this opportunity to get a first hand experience of Indian culture and customs.

The assembly concluded with the felicitation of all the students who had won prizes in various debate and music competitions......

Today the junior school honoured its front line soldiers and wished them success in their challenging task as school appointees by pinning the badges on their proud shoulders.

The special assembly commenced with a short prayer by the HM, Mrs. Rachna Gupta, followed by a group song inspiring us to pursue our goals with utmost enthusiasm.

Our Principal, Mr. Vinay Kumar, addressed  the gathering and praised the Junior School Assembly immensely leaving the children filled with boundless joy. He also explained the meaning of the word 'investiture' to the children.

Mrs. Bindu Sehgal, Vice Principal, pinned the badges on the school appointees. The assembly ended with the National Anthem.

Earth Day Assembly

The students and staff of Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj expressed similar sentiments for the bounties of the mother nature by participating in a special assembly held on 24.04.2007 to mark the 37th Annual Earth Day. The school choir invoked the blessings of the earth amidst incantations of shlokas from the Ramayana. The assembly was a clarion call to the budding denizens to address the issues plaguing mother earth; deforestation, pollution, global warming, emissions of green house gases and Chloro Flouro Carbons. The speech as well as the thought for the day further highlighted the plight of our planet which is held by the fetters of floods, cyclones, drought, hurricanes and tsunamies. The era of procastination we used to live in is now over and in place an era of conclusions has now began.

   

Bhaskar Malik of class III-D and Nikita Khanna of Class IX-B took aid of the muse to bring home the message that it is the sacrosant duty of every human being to make changes and create ways of sustainable development. Truly the reduce, recycle, reuse mantra is the key to preservation and conservation of this beautiful planet. In his address to the students the principal encouraged the children to be a 'giver' always and to fight the tsunami of hatred, anger and aggression creating room for gratitude.

The assembly concluded with the students and staff of the school pledging their services to the eternal giver - Mother Earth.
