EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS

Chairman's
Message
Message on Earth Day 2006
Earth Day is one of the most widely
celebrated events in the world. As the future
guardians and custodians of the planet, you can
make decisive changes and work towards creating
the kind of universe we would be proud of
inhabiting and inheriting. Dalai Lama in 'The
paradox of our age' has written:
We have bigger houses but smaller families,
More conveniences, but less time, We have more
degrees, but less sense, More knowledge, but
less judgment, More neediness but less
healthiness.
We have been all the way to moon and back,
But we have trouble crossing the street and
meet the new neighbors,
We have built more computers to hold more
information, to produce more copies than ever,
but we have less communication.
We have become long on quantity but short on
quality. These are the times of fast foods, but
slow digestion, Tall men, but short character,
Steep profits but shallow relationships.
It is time when there is much in the window,
but nothing in the room.
When we ponder upon these words, the so
called achievements of the 20th century
raise serious questions as to our present
plight. I know that the hope of the 21st century
must spring essentially from our children and
DPS students.
With every interaction I am reassured that a
change will come and you will "Lead, Kindly
Light,"

Farewell

|
We came
in when we were just four years old
It took 14 years for us to unfold
From tiny tots to teenage life almost through
A journey to remember...a journey called school
Here we
did it all...
Learned how to walk, learned how to fall
And now as I stand and as I look back
We have to leave, cannot regret the fact...
But there
was something very special...
The ambience the feeling never seemed artificial
All the mischief n' all the penalties
Hope they are forgiven, hope they are deceased
From
learning the rules to breaking them...
The art of making up reasons never ends!
'coz all we did was just or fun...
Had no time for sorrow, never thought that this day would come...
Since
childhood we saw dreams unlimited
It is here that we learned how the road towards them was to be paved
This institution for us was like a never ending bookshelf
By setting an example it made us learn 'service before self' ...
Although
sometimes we admit that we felt like leaving
Circumstances may have made the situation unforgiving...
But now as I sit back and remember...
I wish I could go back into the past... ' coz life was never better
With
memories close to our heart
With tears in our eyes we solemnly depart...
But to 'the future with a smile I'll proudly add...
That this journey... this journey was the best I ever had
