about the school shown on Annual Day
24 of January marked a red letter day
for DPS Vasant Kunj as the school celebrated its Annual
Day in collaboration with the National School of Drama
at the Kamani Auditorium.
The Chief guest for the occasion was the election
commissioner of India, Mr. Navin B. Chawla. As a part of
tradition, Dipsites autograph their work with
excellence, and this event was no exception. The
audience was welcomed by a short film projecting the
significant activities of the academic year 2006-07. In
his welcome address the school Principal, Shri. Vinay
Kumar stated that the day marked the culmination of
consistent diligence and tireless effort of the staff
and students in their journey towards excellence. The
school choir equivocated a similar sentiment with their
mesmerizing performance "Jo kadam badey, rukey nahi".
This song was an inspiring message that exhorted the
individual to march ahead despite all hurdles. It was
well received by the appreciative audience.
The junior school presented ATMODAYA, an enigmatic
choreography portraying the ability of the human mind to
transform negative emotions into positive energy.
In an attempt to encapsulate the world of truth,
sacrifice and victory the students staged a satire
directed by Mr. Akhilesh Khanna, a luminary from the
field of theatre. This performance evoked a standing
ovation from the audience. The ceremony was a star
studded affair as it was graced by Mr. Ashok Chandra,
Chairman DPS Society, Mr. Inderjit Seth, Chairman
Managing Committee, Mr. D. R Sarin, Registrar, National
School of Drama, Dr. Nanda, Vice Chairperson, Managing
Committee and Mr. Pramod Grover. Also present on the
occasion were, Principals and vice principals of various
DPS schools.
In his address Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS Society,
applauded the efforts of the principal and his staff in
upholding the school motto, "service before self.
Reflecting similar sentiments, Mr. Navin B. Chawla, the
chief guest for the occasion also congratulated the
school for letting excellence and equality share a
common platform. The esteemed guests also released the
school annual day brochure.
This fun filled extravaganza came to an end with the
school Vice Principal Mrs. Rachna Pandit proposing the
vote of thanks.
